Since May 1st, 2006, Atlanta has exceeded Air Quality Standards 42 times!
Our challenge as a company has always been to make a positive difference in our community. Right now, we are concerned about the decreasing quality of life in Atlanta. With the increases in population have come heavy traffic congestion, smog alerts and water shortages. If we want a better quality of life, everybody will have to do their part.
Our part is an investment in hybrid electric cars. Green Express will be the first delivery company in the United States to move to a hybrid electric fleet. Our goal is to reduce fuel consumption by 1 million gallons in two years and toxic pollutants by 80% through the use of hybrid vehicles. We believe our same day service is friendlier to the environment than the diesel trucks delivering next day packages.
Couriers have proven to be cost effective for businesses while reducing the number of vehicles from the roads and decreasing pollution. Hybrid vehicles use minimal gasoline at speeds under 30 mph and are an efficient use of resources because one vehicle delivers to multiple sites in a geographical area. Using a courier is similar to carpooling. If you can do it, it just makes sense and its better for the environment.
